Our winter dusky dolphins have been moving through in some large pods.
Last week end there were several large pods of common dolphin also feeding in the area. This pod was a mixture of family groups with young calves.

Bottlenose dolphin have also been regularly through the French Pass putting on an acrobatic display as they ran the tidal race of the French Pass passage.

Spotted shag are now in their courting plumage and nest building around the cliffs of French Pass. Pied shag have chicks in their nests and King shag are courting and nest building.

The sun is now rising spectacularly from the sea in the front of the village and setting with equal splendour off d'Urville Island. It is a wonderful time to enjoy the autumn hues and colour of the evening sky and sea.
