The McNaught comet has been getting brighter over the week with the tail getting a lot longer. With no city lights the French Pass Peninsular is an ideal viewing platform. Sixteen guests and locals joined us the other night again toasting the comet with a nice local Red. The photos turned out well, two making the local papers. The comet should be visible for another couple of weeks. 'It looks like a pinhole in the sky with a ray of light shining through.' Many guests have enjoyed a little fishing and having their catch cooked by Lyn. Lyn puts her heart into her food using organically grown vegetables from her garden. The presentation is delightful and guests have been raving. Nothing short of scrumptious. An interesting guest came from England and was an archaeologist who had been diving for 14 years on the wreck of the Mary Rose. He recovered all sorts of treasure including a box of long bows. The team recovered some skeletons that still had the arrows in their backs. The western side of d'Urville island has had an increase of King shags with 44 counted late afternoon on a known roost. Some breeding material indicates that they may well have bred last season. |
