d'Urville Circumnavigation
Sea Safaris Spirit of d'Urville took advantage of the calm weather to take 12 guests around d'Urville Island. Highlights included the trio Island king Shag colony, Cooks Monument in Whareatea and following the story of Angelina. A scrumptious lunch was enjoyed out of the sea breeze nestling inside Victory island in Port Hardy, a place where the immigration ships stopped over for quarantine before moving into Wellington.
The trip went into the heart of d'Urville island going through a narrow waterway and boulder bank into the Mill Arm. Spirit of d'Urville took stunned guests through the hole in the rock and onto French Pass where story's of d'Urvilles famous passage and the giant Shag of Toro were told before returning home.
