Cruising in the well appointed vessel ‘Spirit of d’Urville’ you have a wonderful chance to encounter rare seabirds, the endemic King shag, spotted and pied shag, little pied and white throated shag, little blue Penguin, Fluttering shearwater, Australasian Gannet, diving petrel, White fronted tern, variable oystercatcher, reef heron, gulls seals and often dolphin. French Pass acts as a passageway for migrating Bottlenose Dolphin, Common dolphin, Dusky Dolphin, and at rare moments Orca and whales.
